How will they impact your career in early childhood education? Answer: Meaning of DAP:- By the word Developmentally appropriate practice or DAP means to teach the young children in such a manner that the teacher or the instructor can meet them where they are as a group or as an individual. That means this type of practice is to support each child in achieving the challenging goals that are needed for his/her ongoing learning and development process. Hence, this is the essential resources for the field of early childhood and its main focus on the Toddlers and infants, Kindergarten year, preschool years, and early primary grades (Naeyc.org, 2015). Personal Connections under DAP:- In this Developmentally appropriate practice; there are two basic personal connections. One is the connection between the teacher and the student, and other is the connection among the students. In this case, the teacher act as the friend, philosopher and guide of the students and there is a friendly relationship between the teacher and the student. In this practice, a child makes friendship with another child of the same age and every child learn to cooperate each other (Naeyc.org, 2015). Summarization of DAP:- The main three points of this Developmentally appropriate practice is:- For the learning and development progress, it is important to establish a relationship between teacher and the student, which is considered as a significant part of this practice.
